Warren Teachout

Warren began knitting around the age of 5 when his mom, Carol, taught him how to knit dish cloths. He did that off and on as a young boy and then stopped knitting until his mid-twenties. He started in again with his very first sweater, a cable-knit. That lasted for a short time and he stopped knitting again until his niece Claire was conceived. He picked up his needles to knit her a receiving blanket and has been totally addicted ever since. He has been accused of starting way too many projects and never finishing them. He vehemently denies never finishing, but does acknowledge that it took him about 18 years to finish that cable-knit sweater! His current projects include a third pair of socks made with TOFUtsies yarn, and the Celtic Tote bag for his mother made with O~Wool™ Classic. The Celtic Tote pattern is in the Winter 2007 edition of Interweave Knits.

Warren came up with the idea for Organic Imaginings and is responsible for implementing the vision, planning, and Internet development for our company. He brings 15 years of software development management and general business experience to Organic Imaginings.

In addition to his work growing Organic Imaginings, Warren runs his own massage therapy practice in Kansas City, and teaches massage therapy part-time. He sings in his volunteer church choir. He loves to knit, read, and snow ski.

Carol Cook

Carol began knitting at the age of 22. She learned to knit dish cloths and passed her knowledge on to her children. After having knit a warm baby blanket for her granddaughter and several scarves for Christmas presents, she is currently working on a scarf for herself.

Carol handles the day-to-day operations of Organic Imaginings, including overseeing customer service, order fulfillment, inventory purchases, and the accounting. She brings many years of accounting and office management experience to our company. One of her big projects and goals for our company is to launch our own organic yarn line -- "From Farm to Yarn"!

Carol is enjoying her semi-retirement by working at a major, regional health care facility in Roanoke, volunteeering for hospice, and by working to grow Organic Imaginings. In her spare time, she loves to knit, camp and hike in the mountains, and read books, magazines, and newspapers.

Organic Imaginings is family-based and family run, and for the time being, it is part-time for us. Having stated that, processing your orders and responding to your inquiries are our number one priority. Our commitment is that all orders received by 5 PM Eastern will be shipped no later than the next business day. In the rare event we are unable to meet that commitment, we will email you to let you know.
