It's pretty scary to be an "open book" organization. By putting our Vision, Mission, and Values out here, we are letting you know what it is we have in mind for you, the world, and even ourselves through Organic Imaginings. We have set a high bar, and we will do our very best to meet it with joy, love, peace, hope, and prosperity in mind for all!

Through our Vision and Mission, we participate in moving our society forward to a just and sustainable economy for all.

Vision

We are first and foremost a family-owned and family-managed business. We are highly successful, a pre-eminent supplier of earth and people-friendly yarns, knitting accessories and select finished products. Our company feeds our passion for knitting and our deep-seated desire to help make the world a better place. Our company provides at least $50,000 gross income per year to each of us heavily invested in the business.

Mission

We provide crafters with people-friendly and environmentally-friendly yarns and knitting supplies we buy from manufacturers/vendors who offer at least one product that is organic in nature, and/or is produced in a sustainable manner (for example needles made from bamboo or managed forests). We seek to minimize purchasing products made from plastic and other non-sustainable source materials. When offering finished products, we use local artisans as much as possible and pay them a fair wage or price for their art.

Our Guiding Principles

Our integrity is based on viewing our business holistically, knowing that we started it, grow it, and maintain it because at the core of our beings, we truly exist to be a beneficial presence to the planet and her people. Our principles and everything we do are grounded in this.

Our customers come first in our business. Our highest goal is for complete customer satisfaction.

We are people-friendly by treating our customers, ourselves, our craftspeople, our employees, and our suppliers with respect and top-notch service.

We are earth-friendly. Our product offerings are organic, naturally found in nature, and/or are manufactured with a low impact to the environment. Where we must make trade-offs due to product availability, we do so with full knowledge. We seek out and find new products, selecting small, green businesses when possible. We offset some of the environmental impact through choosing carefully our suppliers and giving a percentage of our net profits to non-profits such that these companies and organizations have a mission and values similar to our own.

We believe that everyone, including ourselves, can be prosperous; therefore, we price our products competitively, yet in a manner that allows us and our employees to make a decent living, and enables us to pay our craftspeople a fair amount for their art.

We earn the trust and respect of our customers, suppliers/vendors, and each other by:
** Being honest and truthful
** Being caring and committed
** Being respectful and considerate
** Being willing to go the extra mile
** Being willing to demonstrate quality and an attention to details.

We have fun running our business by:
** Being helpful to each other
** Being cooperative
** Being energetic
** Being positive.
Our fun and energy is contagious and touches everyone.

We access our inner intuition and wisdom when making decisions.

We honor our commitments and communicate with those people impacted when a situation arises such that the commitment can not be honored.

We gain knowledge about our craft and our business to better meet the needs of our customers. We do so by trying out new needle-craft projects that stretch our current skills; using the items we sell in our projects and sharing our experiences with our customers; reading needle-crafts and business books; attending needle-crafts and business seminars, conventions, and classes.
